Ashutosh Shandilya

Artist

Interview

Abirlal. Welcome, Ashutosh. You are one of the most active members of WECC, please tell us something we don’t know about you.

Ashutosh. I am a self-taught and self-driven artist. Since childhood, I have been very much interested in modern art, especially concept based. I did B-Tech in Chemical engineering from the National Institute of Technology Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, MBA Marketing from Bharithiar University Coimbatore, Tamilnadu and POM from the Indian Institute Of Technology, Delhi. I am purely a technical guy and never attended any art classes, even though my inner zeal, passion and interest toward art always push me up and try to make a balance between my heart (Art) and mind (Professional life).

Abirlal. Great, tell us a little about your art.

Ashutosh. Art is one of the vital parts of my life where it is very important for me to challenge, explore and expand myself as an individual. So obviously I can make viewers happy and crazy about my artworks. I would like to stylize and sum up the true reality of the world to show my deep insight of mine in a way that is new for forthcoming generations. I like to brush the canvas that can’t be photographed and no one can make a replica of the same. This is called the uniqueness and charm of my art. It’s my way of expressing myself on canvas without refining the human reality. I can show the creativity of the universe flowing through my heart. Sometimes it’s not so easy for the viewer to visualize the theme of the artwork. Even different viewers will feel differently and express it uniquely. I always try to explore my artworks beyond the borders like culture, tradition, language and religion.

Abirlal. Ashutosh, how art can enrich us. What is your observation?

Ashutosh. As we all know our Indian culture is very rich and ancient, so I strongly believe that artists should represent our cultural values all over the world with the power of brushes and colours. It’s a process of enlightening our soul so that they can get identity and recognition around the Globe.

Abirlal. Very nice to hear from you. Thank you, Ashutosh.

Ashutosh. Thank you.

Don’t Tell the Secret, We’re Reserved

July 24, 2021

By Abirlal Mukhopadhyay

I have something to say that may help you a lot, but I really don’t want to share the secrets I discovered, you know!… Leave it.
Conversations stop, conversations never grow, conversation is impossible. There were days when people were true, at least they tried to justify everything they did, that traditional ended. The old people in village always argued and left no leaf uncut to support their inabilities, bad deeds, immoral works. That was good in a way. It is a great block of ‘Leave It’, and in this the game is to swallow words, not to express, not to impress, not to listen and not to hear. A public speaker at night can’t share his true happiness to his most closest ones, it’s not he lacks the expertise of expression, but he knows and fears that if we open us like a mountain river, the people would waste the water, pollute and undervalue it. In the fear of not being received fully, how many words we did never speak dear!

Fake Activist and Shouting

July 14, 2021

By Abirlal Mukhopadhyay

Pretending to be an activist! Or reassuring incapacities your deception. It’s better to live far distant than to misplace oneself. Let me explain the pseudo-activist game, I find everywhere, everyday, every time. In prior I wrote on moral hypocrisy, and this is its continuation. People join -isms and try to become -ist. Problem is here. I met so many shouting -ists who really have no perception of morality. Value, ethics, moral, utility can’t be written in proper, for nothing. If I say no one can bring equity among human, it is true, probably more true. But a -ist would argue, and he should. He should really try and try. And that’s how all -ists do balance. They are balancing agent but not solutions. Shouting is good for powerless to let others know they are yet not died. But before calling yourself any -ist please be a good people, otherwise you are against yourself.

Moral Hypocrisy

July 07, 2021

By Abirlal Mukhopadhyay

The thing that I’ve often realised and we all find general somehow, but we all confess to our pillow, how things matters, little and small. If I tell you the hardest truth that all the big things we do, all great things we achieve just for small responses, loves, cares, attention. I strongly believe that an artist can die without praise, an actor without attention, a patient without care and a childhood without love. The difficult feature of humans is the blending of emotion and intelligence, we often being unable to balance them (though nobody can say how to balance) suffer a lot, and these sufferings are self-developed and continuous. I have found a good reason for this suffering. people do exactly what they hate others to do, people in secret break their principles with care, so that nobody can make them out. Let me give a small example. Once I came across a reputed leading old man who prescribed everyone not to smoke, but if you go closer to him, you could get the smell of gold flake from his lips. Now, people are against themselves, and end up every argument blaming either the God or Government. And here you can be the novel one, be true, do what you believe is right both in public and private. From today.
